Under the general direction and supervision of the Dean, College Life and Readiness, this position has responsibility for the daily operations of the Family Resource Center: Lead, supervise, organize, and coordinate the Pasadena City College Family Resource Center (FRC) supporting our students who are Parents/Head of Household/Parenting Roles. This position would be responsible for fostering community among parenting students; understanding the needs, developing programming and campus connections that help create inclusivity and success. In addition, this position will coordinate cross campus student parent support with the Child Development Center, CalWORKs program, and other programs designed to support student parent. This position will administer state categorical and federal grant dollars and any other funding associated with the effort.



EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  1. Coordinate and oversee the PCC Family Resource Center and multiple funding sources
  2. Establish operational policies and procedures and evaluate program results.
  3. Ensure compliance of program operations with all applicable rules and regulations.
  4. Coordinate program projects and activities with existing college programs and services. Serve on various committees on campus and within the community to discuss matters affecting FRC programs
  5. Provide guidance to individuals and groups in the interpretations of laws, rules, and policies and procedures pertaining to Family Resource Center programs and services.
  6. Establish and maintain connections with community leaders, community organizations, and public agencies to partner with FRC projects Establish and maintain connections with community leaders, community organizations, and public agencies to partner with FRC projects.
  7. Develop the budget for assigned programs and review and control expenditures of funds. Secure additional funding from public and/or private sources for programs and activities.
  8. Write, edit, and evaluate proposals for grant funds from government, corporations, and foundation funding sources according to applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Select and evaluate program and program personnel.
  10. Collaborates with Pasadena City College Grants Office and other stakeholders to research and prepare grant proposals to ensure continued funding of the program and any specialized services within.
  11. Monitors participant involvement and maintains appropriate documentation of participant records in electronic databases and student files.
  12. Develop and coordinate marketing of Family Resource Center programs, services, activities.
  13. Prepare comprehensive correspondence, reports, and presentations related to the Family Resource Center, on and off-campus.
  14. Ensure FRC services are available to the multiple campus locations/communities.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in education, child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education, Psychology, Sociology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Three years of experience working in a community college setting with student parents, in parent education, or in child development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in programming for student parents
  • Experience and engagement with other programs/services that support student parents
